With so many brilliant children&#8217;s books to choose from, we&#8217;ve whittled down a list of our favourites.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-03b5596b-50f6-4e18-95d5-c9e428ccdef3\" data-url=\"\" href=\"\" data-hl-processed=\"none\"\/>Robin Hood by Bethan Woollvin, 3+<\/p>\n<p id=\"276b1bc9-6e7e-4511-b06f-d406ca5c40fc\" class=\"paywall\" aria-hidden=\"true\">This &#8220;spirited&#8221; twist on the familiar tale of Robin Hood is a real treat, said Craig. The action follows a &#8220;rebellious girl with a <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/theweek.com\/tag\/rachel-reeves\" data-auto-tag-linker=\"true\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/theweek.com\/tag\/rachel-reeves\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rachel Reeves<\/a>&#8216; bob&#8221; who fights the &#8220;greedy&#8221; Sheriff and steals back the loot. Bethan Woollvin&#8217;s tale is a &#8220;lively escapade full of mischief and mayhem&#8221; that makes for a great bedtime read.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-d0a0f405-5909-4621-a49f-70eb3760f1e5\" class=\"paywall\" aria-hidden=\"true\" data-url=\"\" href=\"\" data-hl-processed=\"none\"\/>The Notwitches by Gary Panton, 7+<a id=\"elk-seasonal\" class=\"paywall\" aria-hidden=\"true\" data-url=\"\" href=\"\" data-hl-processed=\"none\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"f0272bc8-2c09-40dd-b15f-8574fee0e120-0\">This fun illustrated book is a &#8220;triumph of nonsense&#8221;, said Lucy Bannerman in <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.com\/culture\/books\/article\/notwitches-gary-panton-review-8kw07fqtd\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.com\/culture\/books\/article\/notwitches-gary-panton-review-8kw07fqtd\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The Times<\/a>. Gary Panton &#8220;earned his comedy stripes&#8221; writing for &#8220;The Beano&#8221; and certainly knows how to craft an entertaining read. Don&#8217;t expect a message \u2013 his debut children&#8217;s book is concerned with way more important things like &#8220;hairy motorcycle gangs and good running jokes about eating stationery&#8221;.
