Former unified welterweight champion Spence will return from a three-year hiatus for a blockbuster showdown with Tszyu in Australia on July 26<\/a>, with the venue yet to be confirmed.<\/p>\n But Dirrell believes the trip itself could present a major challenge for \u201cThe Truth\u201d.<\/p>\n Speaking about the matchup, Dirrell agreed when asked if the bout carried similarities to Roy Jones Jr.\u2019s ill-fated 2009 trip to Australia to face Danny Green in Sydney. <\/p>\n Jones Jr., widely regarded as one of the most gifted fighters in boxing history, arrived in Australia as a favourite but was stopped by former world champ Green inside 122 seconds.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel the punishment happening,\u201d Dirrell told Fighthype\u2019s Ron Goodall.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cCould it be soon? Absolutely.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd then, just like Roy [Jones Jr], he might not see this in his head — but his brain remembers the kind of punishment he took.<\/p>\n \u201cSo when he gets in there and takes those shots, whether he thinks he\u2019s ready for it or not, his brain might not be. All I can do is hope for the best…<\/p>\n \u201cThis fight could be 50-50, man. We all know he\u2019s a tough cookie,\u201d Dirrell said.<\/p>\n \u201cIt seems like Errol always wants to put himself in these types of situations \u2013 especially with comebacks…<\/p>\n \u201cHe doesn\u2019t want any warm-ups….<\/p>\n \u201cThat kind of fight deserves the right kind of comeback.<\/p>\n \u201cHe has to be careful. But like I said with Tim Tszyu, he\u2019s taken enough punishment \u2013 he\u2019s been knocked out and beat up… He\u2019s been in some wars.<\/p>\n \u201cI think it\u2019s a good matchup, but both fighters are going to get beat up a little bit.<\/p>\n \u201cMy question is \u2013 how is Errol going to come out of this? Is he going to look the way he used to?\u201d<\/p>\n But not everyone is convinced Spence\u2019s three year absence will work against him, with former world champ Teofimo Lopez dismissing concerns about ring rust.<\/p>\n \u201cErroll Spence has been non-stop working out,\u201d he told Fight Hub TV.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cHe already looks like he\u2019s in shape now.
