A recent report from the U.S. Sun<\/a> claimed that SiriusXM was considering canceling The Howard Stern Show once Stern\u2019s five-year, $500 million deal expires at the end of 2025.<\/p>\n Without addressing the rumors directly, Stern reminded listeners the next day that he\u2019d return from his usual summer break after Labor Day.<\/p>\n \u201cWe will back back though, very soon,\u201c he said. \u201dWe\u2019ll be back on the air, live. I\u2019ve been refueling, so to speak.”<\/p>\n Similarly, Stephen Colbert\u2019s The Late Show was canceled<\/a> by CBS last month, with the network describing the decision as being purely financial.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night,\u201d a statement read. \u201cIt is not related in any way to the show\u2019s performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount.\u201d<\/p>\n Colbert\u2019s supporters have questioned the timing of the announcement, considering that shortly before his show\u2019s cancelation, Colbert had criticized<\/a> CBS\u2019 parent company Paramount of settling with President Donald Trump in a $16 million lawsuit.<\/p>\n Colbert said of the settlement, \u201cAs someone who has always been a proud employee of this network, I\u2019m offended, and I don\u2019t know if anything will ever repair my trust in this company.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBut just taking a stab at it, I\u2019d say $16 million would help,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n The Writers Guild of America called<\/a> for an investigation into the cancelation, releasing a statement that read, \u201cThe Writers Guild of America has significant concerns that The Late Show\u2019s cancellation is a bribe, sacrificing free speech to curry favor with the Trump Administration.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite being a vocal Trump supporter, Barr has previously complained<\/a> that the administration had ignored her because she was too much of a \u201cloose cannon.\u201d<\/p>\n![\"Howard](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/JFTAR7UNI5DIVFLQTLPYJC6TZE.jpg\")
