Daniel Ricciardo has revealed he could be open to a return to racing, two years after leaving Formula 1.<\/p>\n

The Perth-born driver, 36, spent 13 years in the sport, winning eight Grands Prix across spells with Red Bull, Aston Martin and McLaren.<\/p>\n

His final victory came at Monza in 2021, while his last year in F1 was in 2024 with Visa Cash App RB.<\/p>\n

Since then, he has poured much of his time into promoting his new lifestyle brand, Enchante.<\/p>\n

But Ricciardo has now hinted he could be tempted back into a racing venture should it materialise in the future.<\/p>\n

However, he did not specify whether or not that new chapter would be back in F1.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the Speed Street podcast<\/a>, he said: \u201cNever say never (to a return to racing). I\u2019m really enjoying not competing where I currently sit, and just enjoying the small things in life, and not having to kind of be on a stage and all that.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo I know what I\u2019ll feel in three years, five years? No. If I was to do something maybe one day, it would definitely be more from a fun aspect than, like, \u2018I\u2019m chasing some championship\u2019 aspect.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t need to hold a trophy in something. I don\u2019t need this for myself. Sometimes that can take the enjoyment out of racing.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a balance, because you want to have goals, and that\u2019s obviously what gives you that purpose in the morning. To wake up and push yourself and get in the gym and all that.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut sometimes that can also rob some of the joy. I just want to make sure if I was to ever do something again, it\u2019s just joyful, and I don\u2019t have to prove anything or try to be the best. I just want to have some fun with it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ricciardo was hugely popular during his F1 career \u2014 and received many fans from starring as a prominent figure in Netflix\u2019s Drive to Survive.<\/p>\n

His best finishes in the Drivers\u2019 Championship came in 2014 and 2016 when he came third behind Mercedes pair Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.<\/p>\n
