A major new year-round tennis and pickleball complex is coming to northeast Brampton after the city secured a $200,000 investment from Tennis Canada and Rogers Communications.<\/p>\n
The funding will support the development of six indoor tennis courts under an air-supported dome at Gore Meadows Community Centre, part of a broader expansion of year-round recreation opportunities in one of Brampton\u2019s fastest-growing communities.<\/p>\n
Mayor Patrick Brown joined councillors and Tennis Canada representatives to announce the investment, which city officials say will help meet rising demand for recreation infrastructure in northeast Brampton.<\/p>\n
The Gore Meadows project will include:<\/p>\n
Six indoor tennis courts under a permanent dome
\nSix pickleball courts and two padel courts under a second dome
\nSix outdoor pickleball courts
\nA clubhouse with washrooms and change rooms<\/p>\n
The facility will be operated by Premier Racquet Clubs, which also manages the Rosalea Park Tennis Facility in Brampton.<\/p>\n
City officials say the expansion will further establish Gore Meadows as one of Brampton\u2019s largest multi-use recreation hubs. The community centre already offers aquatic, fitness and library services and is currently being expanded through the development of Gore Meadows East Community Park.<\/p>\n
The Ontario government is also supporting the project through the Ontario Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund.<\/p>\n
\u201cNortheast Brampton continues to experience significant growth, and projects like this help our recreation infrastructure keep pace,\u201d said Gurpartap Singh Toor, Regional Councillor, Wards 9 and 10, City of Brampton. \u201cThis investment will support a year-round tennis facility at Gore Meadows and create more opportunities for residents to play, compete, learn new skills and stay active throughout the year.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to Tennis Canada, the Brampton facility is part of its national Year-Round Community Tennis Courts Program presented by Rogers, an initiative launched in 2021 with the goal of building 160 year-round courts at up to 30 facilities across Canada by 2029.<\/p>\n
Since 2022, the program has supported 17 completed or ongoing projects representing 93 indoor courts across Canada, including facilities in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador. The Gore Meadows facility is expected to be one of four additional projects opening in 2026.<\/p>\n
Tennis Canada CEO Gavin Ziv said the partnership reflects a commitment to building accessible year-round tennis facilities that strengthen communities and expand participation in the sport.<\/p>\n
