Exes Emma Roberts and Evan Peters had a tense onstage reunion this week, years after the actress was arrested for alleged domestic violence<\/a> against him in 2013.<\/p>\n

The former co-stars made a rare joint appearance during the Disney Advertising Upfront showcase on Wednesday to announce Paul Anthony Kelly\u2019s addition to Season 13 of Ryan Murphy\u2019s \u201cAmerican Horror Story.\u201d<\/p>\n

Roberts, 35, was dressed up in a black strapless mini dress decorated with red roses for the event. Peters, 39, sported a teal jacket over a white tee and black trousers.<\/p>\n

The former couple was joined onstage by fellow \u201cAHS\u201d alums Sarah Paulson,\u00a0Billie Lourd,\u00a0Gabourey Sidibe\u00a0and\u00a0Angela Bassett.<\/p>\n

But the exes also kept a few feet apart as they stood on the North Javits Center stage in New York City to help promote Season 13 of the long-running FX horror anthology series, which will mark their first time working together since 2018.<\/p>\n

Reps for Roberts and Peters did not immediately respond to Page Six\u2019s requests for comment.<\/p>\n

The \u201cWe\u2019re the Millers\u201d star and \u201cX-Men\u201d actor\u2019s tumultuous relationship began in February 2012 when the pair met on the set of the comedy-drama \u201cAdult World.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

They sparked relationship rumors that July after being photographed holding hands at a wedding, and made their red carpet debut as a couple during the 70th Golden Globe Awards in January 2013.<\/p>\n

But five months later, Roberts was arrested following an alleged domestic violence incident<\/a> at a hotel in Montreal in July 2013.<\/p>\n

The \u201cScream 4\u201d star was released shortly after, and Peters \u2013 who reportedly suffered a bloody nose during the purported incident \u2013 didn\u2019t press charges.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding,\u201d the pair\u2019s reps said in a statement at the time. \u201cMs. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple are working together to move past it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the reported domestic violence incident, Peters proposed to Roberts a year later in January 2014. <\/p>\n

The then-couple also continued working together, most notably for four seasons of \u201cAHS\u201d beginning with \u201cCoven\u201d in 2013 and followed by \u201cFreak Show\u201d in 2014, \u201cCult\u201d in 2017 and \u201cApocalypse\u201d in 2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really amazing,\u201d Peters gushed about working with Roberts during an interview with People<\/a> after \u201cCoven\u201d wrapped filming. \u201cYou\u2019re at set, and you\u2019re in a city that you don\u2019t really know that well. It\u2019s nice to have your best friend there to go to dinner with and check out the city.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cOn set, if you\u2019re having a bad day or whatever, you can go to somebody and talk to her and she\u2019s right there. You don\u2019t have to wait until you\u2019re done working, so it was nice.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair, however, abruptly called off their engagement in June 2015.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey grew apart,\u201d an insider said after the couple\u2019s split. \u201cThey both had a lot of growing to do and it was better that they do it on their own.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still, Roberts and Peters continued dating on and off<\/a> until 2019, when they split for good after seven years together.<\/p>\n

The \u201cScream Queens\u201d alum opened up about her and Peters\u2019 split and how \u201cno one knows the real story\u201d about their relationship during a candid chat with Cosmopolitan<\/a> in May 2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that no matter who you are or what you do or wherever in the world you are, anything ending is hard,\u201d she told the outlet. \u201cLosing something is hard.\u201d<\/p>\n

Roberts continued, \u201cGrowing up is hard. Sometimes it makes me sad that I can\u2019t have a private moment \u2026 Because of Twitter and Instagram, there\u2019s a whole other element where everybody can comment on what you\u2019re doing, and no one knows the real story. That\u2019s hard.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although Peters was rumored to have moved on with Natalie Engel, the pair reportedly split last year.<\/p>\n

As for Roberts, she has since moved on with actor\u00a0Cody John.
