The exhibition runs until 3 September and in its final week Gorillaz are set to play four limited capacity shows. \u201cWe\u2019re playing the first album, the second album and the third album and then the fourth one is… a mystery,\u201d said Albarn, mysteriously. The interviewer, Krishnan Guru-Murthy asked if there might be some new material in that final show. \u201cThere might be, in that sense,\u201d the singer replied.<\/p>\n

In an interview with The Times<\/a> last month, he told the paper that he had been \u201cincredibly busy making music – it\u2019s what I love to do. I suppose I\u2019m going to have to share some of it soon.\u201d He also said that the new Gorillaz album \u2013 which should see light of day in 2026 \u2013 will be in \u201cfour languages\u201d.<\/p>\n Inevitably, Guru-Murthy had to ask the Blur frontman about the Oasis<\/a> reunion and Albarn revealed that he had recently found himself in a tube carriage packed with Oasis fans on their way to Wembley \u2013 \u201cit felt like being on a tube and being the only away supporter at a football match,\u201d he quipped.<\/p>\n Hewlett also pointed out that, in some ways, Gorillaz were ahead of their time. \u201c[At the time when they started] there was a lot of \u2018yeah \u2013 that\u2019s for kids, what you\u2019re doing. It\u2019s not rock n\u2019 roll. It\u2019s not the ’90s Britpop scene. But 25 years later it\u2019s still relevant. The importance of animated characters and avatars in our culture today compared to 25 years ago is even stronger.\u201d<\/p>\n The four Gorillaz shows later this month are all sold out. But the House Of Kong<\/a> exhibition is open now until 3 September.<\/p>\n
