In March, Ubisoft Quebec finally acquiesced to long-held fan requests and brought the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.japantimes.co.jp\/life\/2025\/03\/19\/digital\/assassins-creed-shadows-review-yasuke\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Assassin&#8217;s Creed series to Japan<\/a>. Even Japan-based developers of games set elsewhere couldn\u2019t seem to resist: The Silent Hill horror series has traditionally been set in small-town America, but Konami and Taiwan-based NeoBards brought the series to rural 1960s Japan for the first time in September\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.japantimes.co.jp\/life\/2025\/10\/17\/digital\/silent-hill-f-horror-video-games-new\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Silent Hill f<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On May 19, another prominent game series is making the jump to Japan due to popular demand:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/forza.net\/forzahorizon6\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Forza Horizon 6<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Last year, Japan proved to be a popular setting for foreign game developers.
