NASCAR is heading into All-Star weekend at Dover International Speedway after a one-way traffic Cup Series race at Watkins Glen. Trackhouse Racing\u2019s Shane van Gisbergen won from pole position and racked up a nearly 30-second gap to his nearest rival, Michael McDowell.<\/p>\n

It was the Kiwi\u2019s second consecutive Cup Series victory at The Glen<\/a>, and his sixth since the start of the 2025 campaign. However, NASCAR<\/a> and FOX Sports also came under fire for their lack of coverage of Cody Ware\u2019s wreck.<\/p>\n

Cup Series championship contender Denny Hamlin<\/a> led the charge, branding it as unacceptable. Elsewhere on the same race weekend, Carson Hocevar aimed expletives at Cup Series rival<\/a> Daniel Suarez following an on-track incident. There\u2019s been plenty more developments in the NASCAR world, and Express U.S. Sport has taken a look at a few of the top headlines.<\/p>\n

Danica Patrick shows off<\/p>\n

Former NASCAR and IndyCar driver Danica Patrick is enjoying time away from TV after leaving her F1 analyst role with Sky Sports. The 44-year-old\u2019s departure came on the eve of the 2026 season, with Patrick keen to explore new ventures.<\/p>\n

However, one aspect of Patrick\u2019s life has remained unchanged: Health and fitness. Patrick has regularly shown her social media followers her workout routines, and she again gave fans a sneak peek of her hard work in the gym.<\/p>\n

The workout footage showed Patrick completing a rigorous sequence of exercises, including shoulder presses, weighted pull-ups, chest presses, incline curls, and tricep pushdowns. Patrick has also been joined in the gym by celebrities, including President Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s daughter-in-law, Lara.<\/p>\n

The Trump administration\u2019s Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, also joined in with the exercises. Patrick has previously said she loves a \u201cpretty intense\u201d lifestyle.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a new way of eating and working out that has given me my best body ever,\u201d she said in a 2018 interview. Patrick also gave fans a tip on how to figure out their ideal weight.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat you need to do is maybe look at your clothing. My gauge usually is throwing clothes on and seeing if it\u2019s fitting me good or if it\u2019s tight,\u201d she said. \u201cClothes are a great gauge. Think about it: \u2018I think these clothes shrunk. This doesn\u2019t fit like it normally does.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Chase Elliott adds race<\/p>\n

Hendrick Motorsports star Chase Elliott has added a non-NASCAR race to his 2026 calendar. The 2020 Cup Series champion will run in the Tar Heel 250 next week.<\/p>\n

Elliott will compete in the ASA STARS National Tour event at Hickory Motor Speedway on May 21, ahead of competing in the Cup Series Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway three days later. Entering this weekend\u2019s NASCAR All-Star Race, Chase Elliott sits third in the Cup Series standings, buoyed by a recent victory at the W\u00fcrth 400.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old is one of only two drivers this season, along with Tyler Reddick of 23XI Racing, to secure multiple wins, having also taken the checkered flag earlier in the year at Martinsville.<\/p>\n
