(Photo: OPP)<\/p>\n<p>Police have made a second opium bust in Brampton following investigations into drug trafficking.<\/p>\n<p>The OPP says the probe began in April, and that police searched both a vehicle and a property in Brampton where approximately 81 grams of opium were seized.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators say they also recovered \u201citems consistent with the sale and trafficking of drugs,\u201d like a cell phone, digital scales and packaging materials.<\/p>\n<p>The OPP says Jaspreet Singh, 24, of Brampton, has been charged with two counts of trafficking in a schedule I substance \u2013 opioid, and possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking \u2013 opioid.<\/p>\n<p>The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville at a later date.<\/p>\n<p>The bust follows an announcement last week that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insauga.com\/over-100-grams-of-opium-seized-in-drug-bust-leads-to-charges-for-brampton-man\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the OPP seized over 100 grams of opium in Brampton<\/a>. Officers from Collingwood and Orillia assisted in the investigation, and police say a residence and a vehicle in Brampton were searched.<\/p>\n<p>Approximately 116 grams of opium, an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency, cell phones, digital scales and packaging materials were seized, investigators say.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information about these incidents can contact the OPP by calling 1-888-310-1122.
