Mysterious projections on the CN Tower and the temporary closure of nearby Bremner Boulevard have prompted unverified speculation by some Torontonians that Drake could be planning another stunt to promote his new album. <\/p>\n
On Wednesday night, the CN Tower was covered in a projection that resembled a thermometer. <\/p>\n
By Thursday morning, the tower was surrounded by scaffolding and Bremner Boulevard was briefly closed at Simcoe Street. Toronto police told CP24 that the closure was related to \u201cpaid duty\u201d work in the area but would not provide further details. Toronto police would also not confirm whether there are any additional road closures planned for the area today. <\/p>\n
CP24 has reached out to the City of Toronto for comment about what is taking place at the CN Tower but has not received a response.<\/p>\n
Still, many fans are confident the mysterious activity could be linked to Drake\u2019s ninth studio album slated to be released on Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith every album that he\u2019s released, he\u2019s always let teasers out and stuff like that,\u201d one fan told CP24 on Thursday. <\/p>\n
On Thursday, a company truck from The Iceman<\/a>, a local ice supplier that has previously partnered with Drake, also appeared next to the CN Tower.<\/p>\n Early Wednesday night, a fan posted video of the landmark<\/a> with what looked to be ice cubes projected onto it. <\/p>\n Drake\u2019s new album is also titled \u2018Iceman.\u2019<\/p>\n Reports of Drake activity date back to April <\/p>\n Drake has been using Toronto as his promotional playground for the last few weeks. <\/p>\n In April, a Drake video shoot was linked to explosions at Downsview Park<\/a>. A spokesperson for the City of Toronto confirmed with CP24 that a production associated with the rapper took place, in which a special effects explosive permit was granted for the shoot. <\/p>\n The explosions, however, rattled some residents and the management of Downsview Park later acknowledged \u201cthat the unexpected sounds were alarming and unsettling for many\u201d and apologized for the disruption. <\/p>\n Later that month, an ice sculpture<\/a> appeared near Dundas and Bond streets. It was later confirmed to be a promotional stunt linked to Drake\u2019s upcoming album, with information about its release buried inside the structure. Hundreds of fans descended on the parking lot, prompting a response by Toronto police. One Twitch streamer, who goes by the name Kishka, reportedly obtained a package buried within the ice sculpture<\/a>.<\/p>\n The streamer went to Drake\u2019s home<\/a> to open the package and aired a poster on his live stream, appearing to confirm the release date of Drake\u2019s upcoming album \u2014 May 15. <\/p>\n Early Thursday morning, Drake\u2019s social media accounts posted what appeared to be <\/a>other clues to the mystery. One included Thursday\u2019s date and the time 9:45.
