Aatu R\u00e4ty\u00a0is\u00a0suiting\u00a0up for Finland,\u00a0Filip Hronek for Czechia,\u00a0Linus Karlsson\u00a0for\u00a0Sweden,\u00a0and\u00a0Max Sasson for Team USA.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 16-team tournament plays a round-robin from May 15-26,\u00a0with the quarterfinals, semifinals,\u00a0and finals taking place between May 28-31.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Hronek played all 82 games for the Canucks this season, recording\u00a049 points (8-41-49) while averaging 25 minutes per game.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The\u00a0Hradec Kralove native has represented Czechia\u00a0since 2014, helping\u00a0Czechia\u00a0to\u00a0a bronze medal at the\u00a02022\u00a0IIHF\u00a0World Championship,\u00a0topping Team USA 8-4 in the bronze medal game.\u00a0He\u00a0had\u00a0an elite performance at the\u00a02019 IIHF World Championship in Slovakia where Hronek\u00a0was\u00a0awarded\u00a0Best\u00a0Defenceman,\u00a0posting\u00a0the\u00a0most\u00a0points (11) and\u00a0assists (8) by a\u00a0defenceman\u00a0in the tournament.\u00a0He also earned\u00a02019\u00a0IIHF World Championship\u00a0All-Star Team\u00a0honours.\u00a0<\/p>\n
R\u00e4ty is coming off his first full season in the NHL in which he scored four goals and chipped in 10 assists, with an average of\u00a059.2 percent\u00a0off the draw.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This is\u00a0R\u00e4ty\u2019s first time competing at the World Championship, but he\u00a0has represented\u00a0Finland\u00a0internationally\u00a0since\u00a02017,\u00a0participating\u00a0in the World\u00a0Under-17\u00a0Hockey Challenge,\u00a0Hlinka\u00a0Gretzky Cup, and\u00a0two\u00a0World Junior Championships. In 2022, R\u00e4ty had three goals and seven assists in seven games, helping Finland to a silver medal finish\u00a0at\u00a0the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship in Edmonton.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Karlsson\u00a0also\u00a0finished his first full season in Vancouver, seeing action in 79 games and tallying 35 points (15-20-35) while averaging 12:31 of ice time per game.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Karlsson, 26, has been involved in Sweden\u2019s national team program since 2017, and this will be his first World Championship.\u00a0He has\u00a0played in 14 games for the national team in\u00a0tournaments, exhibition games, or qualifiers,\u00a0and has seven appearances in the junior ranks.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Sasson\u00a0recorded 19 points (13-6-19) in 66 contests\u00a0with the Vancouver Canucks this past season.\u00a0He also played two games for Abbotsford and scored two goals with the AHL club.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
This is the first\u00a0time\u00a0in\u00a0Sasson\u2019s career where he\u00a0will\u00a0represent\u00a0Team USA.\u00a0<\/p>\n
All four Canucks play in the first four games of the round robin tournament.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
