Roma have made an approach for Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey, according to The Athletic<\/a>, who is also of interest to Besiktas and the Saudi Pro League.<\/p>\n

It is no secret that the Giallorossi are seeking a winger with his characteristics<\/a> for new coach Gian Piero Gasperini, who traditionally plays with a 3-4-3 formation.<\/a><\/p>\n

The report from England suggests these are initial discussions and no formal offer has yet been made, but it could be in the works soon.<\/p>\n

The Jamaica international just turned 28 and plays primarily on the right flank, but can also work on the left.<\/p>\n

He only recently signed a new contract with Aston Villa until June 2027 and there is an option to extend for a further year.<\/p>\n

Bailey had been a big \u20ac32m investment from Bayer Leverkusen in 2021, but fell down the pecking order at Aston Villa last season.<\/p>\n

He only started 14 of his total 24 Premier League appearances, but in total since 2021 has amassed 22 goals and 24 assists in 144 competitive games.<\/p>\n

Roma face competition from Besiktas and clubs in the Saudi Pro League for Bailey\u2019s signature.<\/p>\n
