Residents are being urged to follow evacuation orders and stay updated as the situation develops.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"492\" data-start=\"238\">MINE CENTRE \u2014 A small rural community between Fort Frances and Atikokan has been asked to evacuate as wildfire activity continues to increase across northwestern Ontario.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"431\" data-start=\"371\">Two active fires are burning along Highway 11 in the region.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"579\" data-start=\"433\">Residents of Mine Centre have been advised to evacuate due to the nearby fire threat from\u00a0Fire FOR005 was last updated at 20 hectares as of 5:19 p.m.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"765\" data-start=\"581\">Further east along the highway, about 30 kilometres from Atikokan, FOR004 remains at 10 hectares. Locals have reported on social media\u00a0that two cottages in nearby\u00a0Factor Lake have been destroyed by fire. Ground and aerial suppression efforts are ongoing. The fire is located on the north end of Factor Lake.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"765\" data-start=\"581\">Both fires are classified as \u201cnot under control.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"765\" data-start=\"581\">The OPP is advising motorists to avoid travel through the Fort Frances to Atikokan area.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"765\" data-start=\"581\">Fire hazard levels range from high to extreme in many areas, according to the current forest fire info map.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1179\" data-start=\"902\">Further north, including areas around Dryden and parts of the Kenora region, fire danger levels range from moderate to high. While not all locations are experiencing extreme conditions, localized hotspots remain a concern due to ongoing dry weather and reduced forest moisture.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1852\" data-start=\"1333\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/100066901683968\/posts\/1300625072177537\/?rdid=CLfOTUSIk6wfwNNy#\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Chapple, Emo, and La Vallee Fire &amp; Emergency Services<\/a> say crews are currently battling three wildfires in the area. One fire is burning on Highway 71 near the Chapple North Fire Hall, another is on Highway 615 just east of the Off Lake Church, and a third on Rittau Road in La Vallee, which officials say is now wrapping up.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1852\" data-start=\"1333\">According to their Facebook post, additional support has been requested and\u00a0utilized.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"142\" data-start=\"0\">Just outside Dryden, fires DRY006, DRY007, DRY008 and DRY009 have\u00a0been called out.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"260\" data-start=\"144\">Meanwhile, Dryden 10, located on Highway 599 southwest of Sturgeon Lake, is currently 0.3 hectares and being held.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"419\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\" data-start=\"262\">THU005, located close to Armstrong and Whitesand First Nation off Highway 527, remains 0.2 hectares in size and is reported as not under control.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1852\" data-start=\"1333\">In the Thunder Bay region, several\u00a0other new fires have been identified, mostly under one hectare in size.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1852\" data-start=\"1333\">THU003 is currently 0.3 hectares and not under control near Shabaqua Corners on Highway 11. THU004, located northwest of Lac des Mille Lacs, is currently one hectare and not under control. THU007, located west of Kashabowie Lake, is also 0.2 hectares and not under control.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"2005\" data-start=\"1854\">Across the region, multiple active wildfires continue to raise concerns about the potential for rapid spread, depending on wind and weather conditions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"2108\" data-start=\"2007\">Campfires should be fully extinguished, and all open burning must comply with municipal restrictions.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"2212\" data-start=\"2110\">Fire bans may already be in effect in some areas or could be implemented quickly if conditions worsen.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"2408\" data-start=\"2214\">Residents are encouraged to monitor updates through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lioapplications.lrc.gov.on.ca\/ForestFireInformationMap\/index.html?viewer=FFIM.FFIM\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Ontario Forest Fire Information Map<\/a>.
