HOUSTON (AP) \u2014 Spencer Arrighetti<\/a> took a no-hitter into the eighth inning, Isaac Paredes<\/a> homered and the Houston Astros<\/a> beat the Texas Rangers<\/a> 2-0 on Friday night.<\/p>\n

Arrighetti (5-1) struck out five and walked four before Rangers rookie Justin Foscue<\/a> ended the no-hit bid with one out in the eighth with a single to left field on Arrighetti\u2019s 102nd and final pitch of the night.<\/p>\n

Arrighetti\u2019s ERA is 1.50 through six starts after beginning the season with Triple-A Sugar Land.<\/p>\n

Bryan King<\/a> finished the inning by getting Joc Pederson<\/a> to fly out to right field and then catcher Christian Vazquez<\/a> picked off Foscue at first base with Ezequiel Duran<\/a> at the plate.<\/p>\n

King retired the side in order in the ninth for his fourth save.<\/p>\n

Paredes\u2019 solo homer in the third gave Houston the lead. And that was the game\u2019s only run until Braden Shewmake<\/a> extended his career-high hitting streak to 11 games with an RBI single in the eighth.<\/p>\n

Left fielder Zach Dezenzo<\/a> kept the no-hitter alive when he made a diving catch on a line drive by Alejandro Osuna<\/a> for the second out of the fifth inning.<\/p>\n

First baseman Christian Walker<\/a> took a tough hop on a grounder hit by Brandon Nimmo<\/a> to start an inning-ending double play in the sixth.<\/p>\n

Foscue, a 27-year-old rookie who entered the game with 11 plate appearances this season, grounded out to shortstop and third base in his first two at-bats.<\/p>\n

Jack Leiter<\/a> (1-4) allowed one run on three hits with six strikeouts in seven innings.<\/p>\n

Mired in an 0-for-27 slump, Rangers shortstop Corey Seager<\/a> was given the night off.<\/p>\n
