Kimmel previously hinted that the series, which first premiered in 2003, may be coming to an end.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;I think this is my final contract, I hate to even say it, because everyone&#8217;s laughing at me now \u2014 each time I think that, and then it turns out to be not the case,&#8221; he told the Los Angeles Times in February 2024. &#8220;I still have a little more than two years left on my contract, and that seems pretty good, that seems like enough.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Kimmel&#8217;s current contract expires in 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Kimmel&#8217;s announcement comes one month after The Late Show host Stephen Colbert shared that CBS had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/entertainment\/articles\/stephen-colbert-lands-job-show-150223180.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:canceled his long-running talk show;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">canceled his long-running talk show<\/a>. This is all just going away. And I do want to say &#8230; that the folks at CBS have been great partners. I&#8217;m so grateful to the Tiffany Network for giving me this chair and this beautiful theater to call home. And of course I&#8217;m grateful to you, the audience, who have joined us every night.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Kimmel responded to the news via Instagram, writing, &#8220;Love you, Stephen.
