MONTREAL \u2013 For the first time in this year\u2019s playoffs, the Canadiens will play on a Saturday night.<\/p>\n
Naturally, the conversation around town revolves around \u201cMr. Saturday Night\u201d himself, Cole Caufield. With 21 goals in 23 Saturday games this season, it\u2019s easy to understand why.<\/p>\n
Even Caufield, though, can\u2019t quite explain his knack for delivering on hockey\u2019s biggest night.<\/p>\n
\u201cI honestly don\u2019t know. It is a crazy stat. I\u2019ve got to pick it up during the weekdays though,\u201d Caufield said with a laugh. \u201cWhen everybody\u2019s watching, it really makes you kind of dream about that time of day and time of the week. Everybody gets going for these kinds of games.\u201d<\/p>\n
That near goal-per-game pace on Saturdays is something his head coach certainly doesn\u2019t mind, either.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe don\u2019t hate that,\u201d he joked Saturday morning. \u201cCole loves the game. The energy of a Saturday night at the Bell Centre \u2014 does it raise the love of the game? I don\u2019t know. But for whatever reason, he finds himself in great situations on Saturday night, and it\u2019s fun to watch.\u201d<\/p>\n
