{"id":674486,"date":"2026-05-17T00:36:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-17T00:36:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/674486\/"},"modified":"2026-05-17T00:36:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-17T00:36:12","slug":"tesla-recalls-over-230000-vehicles-in-canada-u-s","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/674486\/","title":{"rendered":"Tesla recalls over 230,000 vehicles in Canada, U.S."},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Tesla has <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwapps.tc.gc.ca\/Saf-Sec-Sur\/7\/VRDB-BDRV\/search-recherche\/detail.aspx?lang=eng&amp;rn=2026221\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/wwwapps.tc.gc.ca\/Saf-Sec-Sur\/7\/VRDB-BDRV\/search-recherche\/detail.aspx?lang=eng&amp;rn=2026221\">announced a recall<\/a> for thousands of vehicles in Canada and the U.S. due to a software issue that could prevent the rearview camera image from displaying properly, increasing the risk of a crash while backing up.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The recall notice, first posted May 5 on Transport Canada and later updated on May 14, noted that on certain Tesla vehicles, a software problem could delay the rearview camera image from appearing when the transmission is shifted into reverse shortly after the vehicle is started.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Canadian regulations require the rearview camera image to display within two seconds of shifting into reverse gear.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cA rearview camera image that doesn\u2019t display could reduce a driver\u2019s ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up,\u201d the recall warned.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThis could increase the risk of a crash.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Vehicles affected by this recall include:<\/p>\n<p>Tesla Model 3 vehicles manufactured between 2021 and 2023Tesla Model S vehicles manufactured between 2021 and 2023Tesla Model X vehicles manufactured between 2022 and 2023Tesla Model Y vehicles manufactured between 2020 and 2023<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/service.tesla.com\/en-US\/vin-recall-search\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/service.tesla.com\/en-US\/vin-recall-search\">recall affects 13,846 <\/a>vehicles in Canada.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Tesla said owners of affected vehicles will be notified by email.
