Karrion Kross has broken his silence on his status with WWE, confirming in a new interview with Ariel Helwani that his contract with the company officially expired on August 10th. Kross, who stressed that the interview was \u201clegit\u201d and not part of a character, detailed the timeline of the negotiations and stated that he and Scarlett still hope to work out a new deal.<\/p>\n
Karrion Kross\u2019s WWE Contract Offer And Expiration<\/p>\n
Kross explained that despite his contract nearing its end, he did not receive an offer for a new deal until last week. He then detailed the reason why he did not sign the contract that was presented to him.<\/p>\n
\u201cI got the offer. I wanted to know how they came to the valuation of that offer. Just wanted some information, some metrics, some analytics that\u2019s supporting to, Hey, this is how we got here,\u201d Kross said. \u201cWhen I inquired about that, they were unwilling to provide that information and told me they had 24 hours to agree to the offer or they were [rescinding] it. The next day, we talk. I ask if they have the information. They don\u2019t. I said, I can\u2019t make an informed decision without the information. I\u2019d like to keep the dialog open. They [rescinded] the offer, and that\u2019s actually where we\u2019re at.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kross Still Wants To Be With WWE<\/p>\n
Despite the breakdown in negotiations, Kross made it clear that his goal is to remain with the company. He explained that he wanted to clarify the situation publicly because the uncertainty could affect his and Scarlett\u2019s livelihood.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe goal has always been to be with WWE. My wife and I still want to be with WWE. I\u2019m at the table for conversations. I did not step out of the conversation,\u201d he stated. \u201cYou know what I mean? We still want to be there. We still want to work it out.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added that an offer was not made for Scarlett, as the company wanted to secure his deal first. \u201cNo, I was told at one point, because I did inquire, of course, yeah, after we deal with you, we\u2019ll deal with her.\u201d<\/p>\n
