And, read history: There are 21 players who will begin their final round at the 2026 PGA Championship within four shots of <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.golfchannel.com\/pga-of-america\/live\/2026-pga-championship-live-updates-leaderboard-scores-results-highlights-and-news-from-round-3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">leader Alex Smalley.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s the most in this major\u2019s history. The contenders include PGA winners Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele who are three stokes back of Smalley.<\/p>\n<p>Jon Rahm,<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.golfchannel.com\/pga-of-america\/news\/jon-rahm-focused-on-self-and-winning-major-no-3-at-pga-championship\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> who sits T-2 with four other players<\/a>, is the only previous major winner within two shots of Smalley.
