The Chicago White Sox<\/a> are starting to prove the doubters wrong.<\/p>\n

The long-suffering franchise — finally — is providing a competitive spark to the South Side. On Sunday,\u00a0Edgar Quero’s walk-off home run<\/a>\u00a0highlighted the emergence of a young core continuing to prove it can compete among the MLB’s elite.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The White Sox, who open a three-game series against the host Seattle Mariners<\/a> on Monday night, became the first lineup to list three 10-home run hitters, paced by a\u00a0focused Munetaka Murakami<\/a>, who had 17 homers in 162 at-bats.<\/p>\n

The emerging international star collected his first\u00a0multi-homer game during Saturday’s win over the Cubs, who yielded 10 round-trippers during the three-game Windy City series.<\/p>\n

Shortstop Colson Montgomery, who had 13 homers, and Miguel Vargas (11) also supply renewed pop to an offense that finished 23rd in home runs last season.<\/p>\n

The White Sox (24-22) rallied Sunday with two 10th-inning runs, securing a 9-8 win<\/a>, improving to two games above .500 for the first time since Sept. 22, 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Doubters are starting to believe.<\/p>\n

White Sox power past Windy City rival Cubs\u00a0<\/p>\n

After blasting 10 home runs in their series win over the Cubs this weekend, the White Sox entered Monday with 66 homers, tied for second-most in the league with the Atlanta Braves<\/a>. The New York Yankees<\/a> paced the league with 68.<\/p>\n

The White Sox are powering their way toward MLB significance.<\/p>\n
