The New York Knicks accomplished their goal of re-vamping the team’s bench rotation by adding 2021 Sixth Man of the Year winner Jordan Clarkson and ex-Boston Celtics draft pick Guerschon Yabusele in free agency.<\/p>\n

Both Clarkson and Yabusele will be relied upon to produce in a limited role, but the franchise could decide to bring in another solid bench piece to round out their 2025-26 roster.<\/p>\n

With their final roster spot, it’s plausible to believe that the Knicks may acquire the former No. 12 overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, Alec Burks, due to his lights-out accuracy from three-point range and valuable postseason experience.<\/p>\n

Burks spent the 2024-25 campaign as a member of the Miami Heat, and the 34-year-old guard made the most of his opportunities with the franchise.<\/p>\n

In 49 appearances, Burks contributed 7.3 points and 2.5 rebounds while knocking down a career-high 42.5% of his looks from distance.<\/p>\n

If Burks were to join the Knicks as a free agent this summer, it would mark his third stint with the franchise.<\/p>\n

As a member of the team in 2023-24, he proved to be one of the most consistent scorers on the roster alongside Jalen Brunson during New York’s 2024 Eastern Conference Semi-Final series against the Indiana Pacers.<\/p>\n

The Knicks would go on to lose the series in a hard-fought seven games, but Burks’ 14.8 points and magnificent 42.9% three-point percentage on 28 attempts against Indiana played a major role in extending their matchup.<\/p>\n
