Nate Diaz mocks fans calling for his retirement after loss to Mike Perry: \u201cMaybe I just fight the second most violent\u201d<\/a><\/p>\nDiaz didn\u2019t seem to protest the stoppage and instead, appeared to be quite thankful, mainly because he wasn\u2019t able to see properly because of the blood that was leaking into his eyes. He did, however, make it known that he would be interested in running it back with Perry.<\/p>\n
In a recent interview, Diaz\u2019s cutman Jacob \u2018Stitch\u2019 Duran had the following to say on why they stopped the bout.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cHe ended up with 15 staples, 20 stitches all together,\u201d Duran said in an interview Monday with MMA Junkie Radio. \u201cHe was beat up. He was too strong for him. I always look at it as a judge, and at that point, he was getting his ass whooped. Mike was just too strong, too aggressive and he was working him. Then, Nate broke his finger right about here. He said, \u2018I couldn\u2019t do nothing.\u2019 The cuts were so big here, it kept pulsating.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt kept going and then his nose kept bleeding. It was the sign of maybe a broken nose. I told Nate, \u2018I\u2019m going to have the doctor stop the fight, man.\u2019 I said, \u2018It\u2019s too much blood and you keep bleeding.\u2019 The referee said, \u2018Come on, let\u2019s go.\u2019 I said, \u2018No, no, no. He\u2019s not going out.’\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNate thanked me,\u201d Duran said. \u201cHe said, \u2018Thanks.\u2019 I said, \u2018Of course.\u2019 I was there to take care of him. That was a proper move. The thing about it is he said he couldn\u2019t see. That\u2019s always No. 1. It wasn\u2019t a hard decision to make. \u2026 He had blood everywhere. So it wasn\u2019t that hard of a decision to make. My job is to protect the fighter. That\u2019s exactly what I did with Nate. At the end, when we were saying goodbye, he gives me a hug, \u2018I love you.\u2019 His dad was there. He thanked me. So of course I did the right thing. No question about it.\u201d<\/p>\n
