The list of huge Vancouver concerts happening in 2026<\/a> continues to grow, and rock icons The Smashing Pumpkins have just added their name to the calendar.<\/p>\n

The two-time Grammy winners are bringing The Rats in a Cage Tour to Rogers Arena on Thursday, Nov. 5.<\/p>\n

Canadian fans of The Smashing Pumpkins will only have three chances to see the group north of the border, with the band also stopping in Hamilton and Calgary this fall. Tickets for all shows go on sale on Thursday, May 21, at 10 a.m.<\/p>\n

The Rats in a Cage Tour is described as a \u201cone of a kind show\u201d and one of The Smashing Pumpkins\u2019 most ambitious live concerts to date.<\/p>\n

\u201cKicking off in September and running through November 2026, The Rats In A Cage Tour will feature the band playing two distinct sets,\u201d said Live Nation in a release.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne celebrating the seminal 1995 RIAA Diamond certified Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness\u2019 recent 30th anniversary, and one a career-spanning journey through nearly four decades\u2019 worth of beloved hits, deep cuts, and fan-favourites alike.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The Smashing Pumpkins have sold over 30 million albums around the world, and also have seven MTV VMAs and an American Music Award to their name.<\/p>\n

Currently made up of original members Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, and James Iha, The Smashing Pumpkins are known for smash hits like \u201c1979\u201d, \u201cBullet with Butterfly Wings,\u201d and \u201cAdore.\u201d They also have two albums \u2014 Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness \u2014 listed on Rolling Stone\u2019s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list.<\/p>\n

\u201cStaging a Mellon Collie-themed show is something we\u2019ve discussed for over a decade, and finally the stars have aligned, and exactly on the terms I\u2019d set, which was to build a special night around its most enduring aspirations and ideas,\u201d said frontman Billy Corgan.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith set one of the Rats In A Cage tour exclusively featuring Mellon Collie songs in a highly theatrical setting, and set two drawing from the rest of our canon so that there\u2019s a decent amount of variance as to what songs we\u2019ll play from night to night. From our first in \u2018Gish\u2019 to our last in \u2018Aghori Mhori Mei\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

It has been a busy season for Vancouver concert announcements, with fellow rockers Beck<\/a>, The Strokes<\/a> and Weezer<\/a> coming to town later this year.<\/p>\n

Fans of pop and country music also have lots to look forward to, including shows by Shaboozey<\/a> and Olivia Rodrigo<\/a>.<\/p>\n
