Two face charges following an incident that happened over the weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Sault Ste. Marie police say officers conducted a traffic stop around 3:15 a.m. on May 16\u00a0in the 100 block of Pilgrim Street.<\/p>\n
Upon speaking with the occupants, police say officers learned neither person owned, nor had reason to be inside\u00a0the vehicle.<\/p>\n
“Further investigation revealed the vehicle was stolen from a business,” a news release said.<\/p>\n
As a result,\u00a041-year-old Amanda Diggins and 48-year-old Kerri Peplow-Nahwegahbow were arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.<\/p>\n
None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.<\/p>\n
Both accused were released on appearance notices and are scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 10.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Two face charges following an incident that happened over the weekend.\u00a0 Sault Ste.
