Investigators have charged a 13-year-old boy from Brampton after police say he stole his parents vehicle and led officers on a chase.<\/p>\n
The incident happened around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday when the OPP says officers were contacted by Peel Regional Police about a 13-year-old suspect who had taken his parents\u2019 vehicle.<\/p>\n
Investigators said the teens may have been driving to Gravenhurst to see friends, and that the vehicle was found later near Lofty Pines Drive.<\/p>\n
But the 13-year-old driver failed to stop for officers and tried to flee the area, leaving the road and crashing.<\/p>\n
Police say the teen has been arrested and charged with dangerous driving, take motor vehicle without consent, flight from peace officer and stunt driving.<\/p>\n
The accused, who cannot be identified due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was held in custody and is scheduled to make a court appearance on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
