{"id":681088,"date":"2026-05-20T03:49:25","date_gmt":"2026-05-20T03:49:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/681088\/"},"modified":"2026-05-20T03:49:25","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T03:49:25","slug":"man-found-dead-at-ne-calgary-hotel-identified-death-ruled-a-homicide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/681088\/","title":{"rendered":"Man found dead at NE Calgary hotel identified; death ruled a homicide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Police have identified a man <a href=\"https:\/\/calgary.citynews.ca\/2026\/05\/18\/suspicious-death-ne-calgary-police\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">found dead at a northeast Calgary hotel<\/a> over the weekend and have ruled his death a homicide.<\/p>\n<p>Emergency crews were called to the Emerald Hotel and Suites near Sunridge Blvd and 26 Street NE around 11:10 p.m. on Sunday, for reports of someone in medical distress. <\/p>\n<p>When officers arrived, they found a man dead inside the hotel. His death was considered suspicious.<\/p>\n<p>After completing an autopsy on Tuesday, police have ruled the death a homicide. The victim has been identified as 42-year-old Jerry Wayne Bull.<\/p>\n<p>One person was taken into custody at the scene.
