{"id":681271,"date":"2026-05-20T05:55:11","date_gmt":"2026-05-20T05:55:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/681271\/"},"modified":"2026-05-20T05:55:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T05:55:11","slug":"toronto-weather-first-heat-event-is-over-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/681271\/","title":{"rendered":"Toronto weather: first heat event is over"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"b-date-custom__date-item\">Updated:\u00a0May 19, 2026 at 8:21PM EDT<\/p>\n<p class=\"b-date-custom__date-item\">Published:\u00a0May 19, 2026 at 6:30AM EDT<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Toronto\u2019s first heat event of the season is over as a heat warning that\u2019s been in place since Sunday has ended.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Environment Canada lifted the warning on Tuesday evening as temperatures began to drop, reaching a low of 10 C overnight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Toronto reached a high of 30 C on Tuesday at 4 p.m., feeling closer to 36 when factoring in the humidity. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A severe thunderstorm watch has also been lifted. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">It was issued on Tuesday afternoon as conditions were favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that would bring strong winds and large hail.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Much cooler temperatures will arrive on Wednesday, which will see a daytime high of 18 C and clear conditions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A mix of sun and clouds is in the forecast on Thursday.
