{"id":681434,"date":"2026-05-20T07:46:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-20T07:46:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/681434\/"},"modified":"2026-05-20T07:46:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T07:46:08","slug":"emergency-closure-of-3-metro-vancouver-skytrain-stations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/681434\/","title":{"rendered":"Emergency closure of 3 Metro Vancouver Skytrain stations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The closure has been disrupting service for hours.<\/p>\n<p>A medical emergency on the Expo Line has forced the closure of three Metro Vancouver SkyTrain stations,\u00a0Tuesday evening (May 19).<\/p>\n<p>TransLink\u00a0says\u00a0the medical emergency at Surrey Central SkyTrain Station\u00a0forced its closure at 7:15 p.m., and the closure of two\u00a0others, King George and Surrey Central, according to a TransLink press\u00a0release.<\/p>\n<p>A bus bridge replaced\u00a0Expo Line service between Gateway Station and King George Station, starting at 7:30 p.m.\u00a0Extra bus service and staff were deployed\u00a0to support customers at King George, Surrey Central and Gateway stations.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Expo Line customers travelling eastbound will have to transfer to [the] bus service at Gateway Station. Customers starting their trips at Surrey Central or King George stations can take the extra bus service to Gateway Station,&#8221; reads the\u00a0TransLink release.<\/p>\n<p>In a post on X (formerly Twitter) the transit authority adds\u00a0that it&#8217;s\u00a0temporarily extending the\u00a0321 Surrey Central Station bus service from\u00a0Surrey Central Station\u00a0to Gateway Station\u00a0&#8220;to assist with the ongoing Medical Emergency at Surrey Central Station.&#8221;\u00a0Customers should\u00a0board the 321 to Gateway Station from Bay 14.<\/p>\n<p>The Millennium and Canada lines are unaffected and are providing regular service.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve reached out to TransLink for further comment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The closure has been disrupting service for hours.
