GRAVENHURST \u2014 An overnight crash on Doe Lake Road led to a police pursuit has landed a Brampton teen in bail court this morning facing charges of stealing the family vehicle and dangerous stunt driving.<\/p>\n

The incident happened early this morning, at 3:30 a.m., when local officers were contacted by Peel Regional Police regarding a 13-year-old who had taken his parents vehicle and was potentially driving to Gravenhurst to see friends.<\/p>\n

Officers located the vehicle in the town of Gravenhurst, near Lofty Pines Drive, and attempted to conduct stop the vehicle between\u00a0 Muskoka Road North and Muskoka Beach Road.<\/p>\n

The driver failed to stop and fled out of town \u2014 travelling more than five kilometres away \u2014 before crossing the Hway. 11 bridge at the end of Bethune Drive.<\/p>\n

The vehicle eventually left the roadway on Doe Lake Road \u2014 coming close to hitting a rock cut on the left side of the road \u2014 before the driver, who was uninjured, was caught and placed under arrest by pursuing officers.<\/p>\n

Police have charged the youth whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.<\/p>\n

\nFlight from Peace Officer
\nAnd Stunt Driving. <\/p>\n

He was held in custody for a bail hearing today in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on May 19, 2026.<\/p>\n
