The Canadian Country Music Awards are coming to St. John\u2019s in September 2027.<\/p>\n

The announcement was made this morning at Mary Brown\u2019s Centre.<\/p>\n

The event will be held during Canadian Country Music Week, and officials say it will bring nearly $15-million in economic activity to the capital city region.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s equivalent to the recent Brier.<\/p>\n

President of the Canadian Country Music Association Amy Jeninga, says interest in country music in Newfoundland and Labrador has grown significantly, and it was a no-brainer to bring the awards to the capital city for the first time.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving never been here and it being such a big piece of your community. We actually recently did a data study and there are super fans here that over-index and country music is so ingrained not only in their listening habits but their lifestyle,\u201d she told reporters.<\/p>\n
