Sullivan just completed his first NFL Draft as the head-man-in-charge in Miami, and according to reports, he accurately called his shots when it came down to his two first-round selections \u2014 offensive guard Kadyn Proctor and cornerback Chris Johnson.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">In a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nfl\/albert-breer-takeaways-aaron-rodgers-revitalized-passion-international-games#inline-text-55\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Sports Illustrated article;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;context_link&quot;,&quot;yModuleName&quot;:&quot;content-canvas&quot;,&quot;yLinkText&quot;:&quot;Sports Illustrated article&quot;}\" class=\"link \">Sports Illustrated article<\/a> from NFL insider Albert Breer, it was revealed that just prior to the start of the 2026 NFL Draft, Sullivan spoke with Miami\u2019s assistant general manager Kyle Smith and remarked, \u201cWouldn\u2019t it be cool if we wound up with Proctor and Johnson?\u201d And lo and behold, those two players are exactly who the Dolphins snagged on that fateful Thursday night in late April.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">According to Breer, a longtime friend of Sullivan\u2019s who works at Alabama (Proctor\u2019s collegiate home) eased the team\u2019s concerns regarding a weight problem the offensive lineman dealt with early on during his Crimson Tide tenure. Speaking with Sullivan, the friend called Proctor \u201ccompetitive\u201d and \u201cprideful\u201d regarding his decision to turn his negative into a positive in regards to his ballooning weight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cProctor went to Miami on a 30 visit and acknowledged and took responsibility for what happened\u2014and promised he wasn\u2019t going back to that weight. Which bolstered Miami\u2019s feeling that it was a one-time problem, and Proctor was the kind of guy who\u2019d respond when challenged.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Whether you agreed with Miami\u2019s first-round selections this year or not, Sullivan\u2019s conviction in both players deserves recognition.
