Matthew Perry\u2019s mom, Suzanne Perry, has slammed her late son\u2019s assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, for how he behaved at the actor\u2019s funeral.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, the 82-year-old wrote and read an emotional victim impact statement at Iwamasa\u2019s sentencing for helping supply the ketamine that ultimately killed\u00a0Matthew in October 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cHe insisted on speaking at Matthew\u2019s funeral,\u201d the letter, included in court docs obtained by Page Six, read. \u201cHe clung to me and the family as if he was somehow the good guy who tried to save Matthew.\u201d <\/p>\n Suzanne added that after Iwamasa \u201ckilled\u201d her son, he \u201ckept a sharp eye on\u201d her. <\/p>\n Matthew Perry\u2019s mom, Suzanne Perry (pictured here with her son and her daughter Emily), called out the late actor\u2019s assistant Kenneth Iwamasa in court. If he saw a rainbow \u2014 one of Matthew\u2019s favorite things \u2014 he would call me,\u201d she penned.<\/p>\n Suzanne insisted that her and her family \u201ctrusted a man without a conscience,\u201d so Matthew \u201cpaid the price.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHe had known Kenny, and so had we, for 25 years,\u201d she detailed. \u201cMathew trusted Kenny. We trusted Kenny. Kenny\u2019s most important job \u2013 by far \u2013 was to be my son\u2019s companion and guardian in his fight against addiction.\u201d<\/p>\n As far as the \u201cFriends\u201d star\u2019s loved ones are concerned, Iwamasa\u2019s biggest responsibility was ensuring that Matthew stayed \u201cdrug free.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cHe clung to me and the family as if he was somehow the good guy who tried to save Matthew,\u201d the heartbroken mom said about Iwamasa (pictured here in 2023). Shot the drugs into Matthew\u2019s body, though he was not in the least qualified.\u201d <\/p>\n She also recalled the circumstances surrounding her son\u2019s tragic passing.<\/p>\n \u201cHe was, in spite of all we went through, my heart and soul. AFP via Getty Images<\/p>\n \u201cHelicopters circled overhead, eager for a glimpse of my dead little boy,\u201d she recounted, \u201ca picture they could show the whole world while I stood out on the street in the cold and begged for a blanket to cover him. Impossible, of course.\u201d<\/p>\n Suzanne recalled visiting Matthew the next day in a mortuary, noting he \u201clooked almost beautiful and somehow relieved.\u201d<\/p>\n The heartbroken mother concluded her letter, stating, \u201cNothing takes this pain away, nor will it, I am sure, for as long as a live.\u201d<\/p>\n Suzanne shared Matthew with ex-husband John Bennett Perry.
