Over 130,000 people are expected to descend on Caledon for the 2026 RBC Canadian Open, an event expected to generate $84 million for the Ontario economy.<\/p>\n
The RBC Canadian Open is the third-oldest continuously running tournament on the PGA Tour, and will return to TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley in Caledon in June after hosting the tournament last year.<\/p>\n
The tournament will feature PGA Tour stars like Matt Fitzpatrick, Collin Morikawa, Tommy Fleetwood, Brooks Koepka, Tony Finau, Max Homa and Jacob Bridgeman.<\/p>\n
Canadian players will include Nick Taylor of Abbotsford, Corey Conners of Listowel, Taylor Pendrith of Richmond Hill,\u00a0 and PGA TOUR rookies Sudarshan Yellamaraju of Mississauga and A.J. Ewart of Coquitlam, B.C.<\/p>\n
Last year\u2019s event generated over $65 million in economic activity in Ontario, and the province is expecting some $84 million this year across the tourism, hospitality and event sectors.<\/p>\n
The province has committed $1.5 million to support the tournament, and Neil Lumsden, Minister of Sport, says the event will \u201csupport good-paying jobs and reinforce why Ontario is where the world comes to compete.\u201d<\/p>\n
The province says the 2026 RBC Canadian Open is expected to have an economic impact of $100 million for Canada.<\/p>\n
