Plaintiff Jean Paul Lotz\u2019s class action lawsuit claims a 2016 study conducted by\u00a0 Onnit Labs \u2014 which was co-founded by commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan \u2014 showed its Alpha BRAIN\u00ae brain health supplements perform no better than a placebo.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cAlpha BRAIN\u00ae\u2019s claims that it improves focus, mental speed and memory generally are false as demonstrated by its own Onnit Funded Study,\u201d the Joe Rogan class action says.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Rogan, meanwhile, regularly promotes the Alpha BRAIN\u00ae brain health supplement to millions of listeners on his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, the class action alleges.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Lotz wants to represent a class of consumers who purchased Alpha BRAIN\u00ae from Onnit Labs in the state of New York within the applicable statute of limitations.\u00a0<\/p>\n
No \u2018statistically significant difference\u2019 between Joe Rogan brain health supplements, placebo, class action says<\/p>\n
Lotz argues Onnit Labs \u2014 which was sold to Unilever in 2021 \u2014 cites its study as proof that its Alpha BRAIN\u00ae supplements support cognitive function, despite the results allegedly not finding the claim to be true.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In reality, the study showed that, in tests conducted to measure attention, concentration and processing speed, there was \u201cno statistically significant difference between the Alpha BRAIN\u00ae group and the placebo group,\u201d the Joe Rogan class action alleges.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Lotz claims Onnit Labs is guilty of violating New York General Business Law<\/a>. He demands a jury trial and an award of monetary, statutory and treble damages for himself and all class members.\u00a0<\/p>\n
