Jacqueline Wolting recently was honoured with the prestigious Schulich excellence in distributed education award, said a joint media release from the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and Thamesview Family Health Team.<\/p>\n

The annual awards of excellence at the Schulich school of medicine and dentistry recognizes individuals who move the school forward through outstanding leadership, curiosity, and a deep commitment to improving community health, research, and patient care, the release said.<\/p>\n
Distributed education plays a vital role in training future health care professionals by placing medical students and residents into community settings outside of the main university campus, offering them invaluable, real-world clinical experience, the release said.<\/p>\n
Described as a dedicated family physician who also provides comprehensive obstetrical care at CKHA, for Wolting, teaching the next generation of physicians is a rewarding extension of her daily practice.<\/p>\n

\u201cWelcoming medical learners into the Chatham-Kent community not only enriches their education but also strengthens local health care services as a whole,\u201d Wolting said in the release.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am constantly inspired by the curiosity and dedication of my medical students and residents,\u201d she said. \u201cI am also proud to work alongside many of them who have remained in Chatham-Kent after completing their training here.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wolting said the achievement is a \u201creflection of the incredible collaborative support from my colleagues at Schulich, CKHA, and the Thamesview Family Health Team, including my patients, who make this vital work possible every day.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wolting \u201cstands out as an exceptional educator whose leadership, teaching excellence, and unwavering commitment to learners exemplify the very spirit of this award,\u201d\u00a0 Lindsey Sutherland, Chatham-Kent regional academic director of distributed education at Schulich, said in the release.\u00a0 Wolting\u2019s \u201ccontributions to service and education have significantly strengthened the distributed education experience in Chatham-Kent and across our region.\u201d<\/p>\n

The award highlights the strong, interconnected health care network within Chatham-Kent that allows medical learners to thrive, the release said. By balancing a busy family medicine practice with hospital obstetrics, Wolting provides students with a holistic view of community medicine, demonstrating how seamlessly comprehensive primary care connects with acute hospital services, the release said.<\/p>\n
Wolting\u2019s achievement \u201cis a true testament to the high calibre of medical leadership we have right here in Chatham-Kent,\u201d said\u00a0 Zeke Milkovic, CKHA chief of staff in the release.<\/p>\n
