(Photo: Quinte News)<\/p>\n<p>9 a.m. UPDATE SATURDAY MAY 23:\u00a0 HAMILTON ROAD HAS REOPENED TO TRAFFIC<\/p>\n<p>A house on Hamilton Road right at the intersection with Wallbridge-Loyalist Road burned to the ground early this (Saturday) morning.<\/p>\n<p>Quinte West firefighters, along with OPP and Hastings-Quinte Paramedics responded at just after 2 o\u2019clock.<\/p>\n<p>Fire Chief John Whalen tells Quinte News that even after a quick response, firefighters arrived to find the entire house up in flames.<\/p>\n<p>Whalen says the home\u2019s owner is believed to be in Kingston but it\u2019s possible the son might be there.<\/p>\n<p>OPP are investigating and the Ontario Fire Marshal\u2019s Office has been called.\u00a0 Quinte West Fire Stations 3 and 4 responded while Belleville Fire and Emergency Services went on standby.<\/p>\n<p>The stretch of Hamilton Road between Wallbridge-Loyalist and Aikins roads will be closed to traffic for an investigation until further notice.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-384295\" class=\"size-full wp-image-384295\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/hamilton-road-fire-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1204\" height=\"1599\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-384295\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: submitted<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"&#13; Home in flames at 16 Hamilton Road.
