{"id":689483,"date":"2026-05-23T23:10:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-23T23:10:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/689483\/"},"modified":"2026-05-23T23:10:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-23T23:10:09","slug":"vancouver-film-industry-mourns-loss-of-stewart-mclean-praises-his-joyful-spirit-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/689483\/","title":{"rendered":"Vancouver film industry mourns loss of Stewart McLean, praises his joyful spirit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tributes and condolences have been flooding social media from Vancouver\u2019s film industry after the remains of British Columbia actor Stewart McLean were found in a community just north of Vancouver.<\/p>\n<p>The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said the body was found during a search of the Lions Bay area, where McLean lived.<\/p>\n<p>The 45-year-old actor was reported missing Monday after last being seen May 15, and he last appeared onscreen in one episode of the Netflix TV series \u201cVirgin River\u201d released in March.<\/p>\n<p>Jennifer Lee, an agent with Vancouver\u2019s Lucas Talent Inc., says she had the pleasure of working with McLean since 2014, and he was \u201cthe most positive, kind, funny, chill\u201d person you could ever know.<\/p>\n<p>Lee says McLean embraced each acting project with \u201centhusiasm and joy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Writer and director Ryan Minaker says he felt blessed to have McLean in his life.<\/p>\n<p>Minaker says he met McLean when he auditioned for one of his projects, and for the last decade, McLean was a \u201cconstant example\u201d of \u201craw talent, stealing the show in every project while remaining professional, humble and approachable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe had the most contagious laugh. I\u2019ll miss our long chats and creative collaborations. Blessed to have so many great memories but sad there won\u2019t be more. Stew was a wonderful soul,\u201d said Minaker in a Facebook post.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI miss my friend.
