B.C. liquor store worker allegedly spat on after ID request<\/p>\n

A routine online order pickup at a Langford liquor retailer escalated into an alleged assault after a customer spat on an employee who asked to see identification.<\/p>\n
West Shore RCMP responded to the report of an assault on Monday, May 4. Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers later shared details of the incident in a May 22 social media appeal seeking help from the public to identify the suspect.<\/p>\n
According to Crime Stoppers, the man attended the liquor store to collect an online order. When asked for identification to verify his age, he allegedly refused to allow the employee to complete the verification process.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe suspect initially attended the establishment and advised the employee they were picking up an online order,\u201d Crime Stoppers said in its appeal.<\/p>\n
The situation then escalated, with the suspect alleged to have spat on the employee before leaving the store. Police say the individual departed the area in a white sedan with an unknown licence plate.<\/p>\n
Crime Stoppers describes the suspect as a man between 25 and 30 years old with medium tanned skin tone and black hair. He was wearing a tan coloured polo shirt, beige pants, tan coloured shoes and black sunglasses at the time of the incident.<\/p>\n
Authorities are asking for the public\u2019s assistance in identifying the individual involved.<\/p>\n
