A 49-year-old man is dead following a two-vehicle collision Friday afternoon in Winnipeg\u2019s Crestview neighbourhood.<\/p>\n
The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. on Cavalier Drive, just north of Hillary Crescent.<\/p>\n
Winnipeg Police Service Traffic Division investigators say the preliminary investigation indicates a 2020 Hyundai Kona was travelling northbound on Cavalier Drive at a high rate of speed when it collided with a stationary water truck.<\/p>\n

Emergency crews extracted the driver from the vehicle, but he suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
The driver of the water truck was taken to hospital in stable condition.<\/p>\n
The family of the deceased driver have been notified, and an autopsy is pending.<\/p>\n
The Traffic Division continues to investigate.<\/p>\n
