The program is co-chaired by Hariri Pontarini Architects and will feature a keynote presentation from Francine Houben of Mecanoo. Liviu Budur and Mateusz Perich, senior associate and architectural designer at Diamond Schmitt, respectively; and Oren Jourdan, director of construction and development at Allied, will discuss the construction process, and details about the project\u2019s glass-block facade.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-417414 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/gh3-RTC-night_w_context.jpg\" alt=\"RTC #3 will be presented at Facades+ Toronto\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1357\"  \/>Raymond Chow, partner at gh3*, will present RTC #3 alongside another project. (Iwan Baan)<br \/>\nKeynote: Forward to Basics<\/p>\n<p>After lunch, join Francine Houben, founding partner of Mecanoo, and AN\u2019s editor in chief Jack Murphy for a keynote focused on sustainability, the driving force behind the projects at the forefront of Mecanoo\u2019s extensive oeuvre. The Lawson Center for Sustainability, Brink Tower, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.archpaper.com\/2025\/07\/mecanoo-theater-jacobs-pillow-berkshires\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Doris Duke Theater<\/a>, and House of Shift Rotterdam will be presented as examples of achieving and exceeding sustainable design standards across different building typologies.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-417412 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/88-Queen-02-1.jpg\" alt=\"88 Queen\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1152\"  \/>The facade design of 88 Queen and Artist\u2019s Alley considers the public realm. (Doublespace Photography)<br \/>\nPublic Interfaces: Between the Building and the City<\/p>\n<p>Two co-chairs from Hariri Pontarini Architects\u2014associate partner Michael Conway and associate Dorna Ghorashi\u2014will use Artist\u2019s Alley and 88 Queen as examples of how the facade design of large urban sites can redefine the public realm. (Courtesy ERA Architects)<br \/>\nNew Technologies for Facade Design and Digital Heritage<\/p>\n<p>The final session of the day assembles a roundtable discussion with Stephen Fai, director of the Carleton Immersive Media Studio at Carleton University; Zak Fish, senior project manager at ERA Architects; and Kimberley Adamek, research architect at WindEEE Dome.
