{"id":690628,"date":"2026-05-24T13:10:17","date_gmt":"2026-05-24T13:10:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/690628\/"},"modified":"2026-05-24T13:10:17","modified_gmt":"2026-05-24T13:10:17","slug":"vehicle-recall-canada-automaker-recalls-nearly-17000","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/690628\/","title":{"rendered":"Vehicle recall Canada: Automaker recalls nearly 17,000"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Toyota has announced a recall for <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwapps.tc.gc.ca\/Saf-Sec-Sur\/7\/VRDB-BDRV\/search-recherche\/detail.aspx?lang=eng&amp;rn=2026241\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">nearly 17,000 vehicles in Canada<\/a> due to a \u201csafety risk\u201d related to improper manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A recall notice posted on Transport Canada, first on Wednesday and later updated Thursday said engines on certain vehicles may not have been manufactured properly, due to which metal debris could cause the crankshaft bearings to fail.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThis could also cause the engine to stall while driving,\u201d the recall said, adding that \u201ca sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Vehicles affected by this recall include the following:<\/p>\n<p>Lexus \u2013 Model: GX 550, manufactured in the year 2024Lexus \u2013 Model: LX 600, manufactured in the years 2023 and 2024Toyota Tundra models, manufactured in the years 2023 and 2024<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The federal agency also noted that this recall replaced a previous <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwapps.tc.gc.ca\/Saf-Sec-Sur\/7\/VRDB-BDRV\/search-recherche\/detail.aspx?lang=eng&amp;rn=2025614\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">recall for nearly 14,000 Toyota vehicles<\/a> from last November.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The carmaker will notify owners of the affected vehicles by mail and the corrective actions for the recall are still under development, the agency said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Customers can check if the recall applies to their vehicles <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toyota.ca\/en\/owners\/recalls\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Toyota has announced a recall for nearly 17,000 vehicles in Canada due to a \u201csafety risk\u201d related to&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":690629,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[712,45,49,48],"class_list":["post-690628","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-business","tag-apple-news","tag-business","tag-ca","tag-canada"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/690628","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=690628"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/690628\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/690629"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=690628"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=690628"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=690628"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
