{"id":692036,"date":"2026-05-25T05:42:05","date_gmt":"2026-05-25T05:42:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/692036\/"},"modified":"2026-05-25T05:42:05","modified_gmt":"2026-05-25T05:42:05","slug":"thousands-to-participate-in-this-weekends-62nd-calgary-marathon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/692036\/","title":{"rendered":"Thousands to participate in this weekend&#8217;s 62nd Calgary Marathon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Canada\u2019s longest running marathon returns to Calgary this weekend, and tens of thousands of people are expected to participate.<\/p>\n<p>The Calgary Marathon, sponsored by Servus Credit Union, has been happening annually since 1963, when 19 men lined up at Glenmore Stadium, with the exception of 2020.<\/p>\n<p>2026\u2019s event will be the 62nd marathon.<\/p>\n<p>Participants are registered in six different events. <\/p>\n<p>The shortest of which is the diaper dash, followed by the kids\u2019 race, a five-kilometre race, a 10-kilometre race.
