\"NCAACARLSBAD, Calif. \u2013 The University of Houston Women’s Golf program ended its 2025-26 season following the Third Round of the NCAA Championships at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa on Sunday evening.

\nThe 29th-ranked Cougars posted a team score of 289 \u2013 their best total of the tournament \u2013 to finish with a 54-hole score of 880 on the 6,271-yard, par-72 layout and rise four places in the standings.

\nCompeting in her second straight NCAA Championships, senior Moa Svedenski\u00f6ld overcame a slow start to post a 71 to tie for 36th at 217 and lead the Cougars.
\n\u00a0
\nStarting off No. 1, the Helsingborg, Sweden, native endured two bogeys on her first three holes but returned to even par with back-to-back birdies on Nos. 4-5. She endured her final bogey on the last hole of her first nine but drained birdies in two of her last four holes to tie her First-Round score.

\nJunior Maelynn Kim<\/a> opened her Final Round with birdies on two of her first four holes and added her final birdie of the tournament at No. 14. She finished the day with a 72 and tied for 60th at 220.

\nSenior Natalie Saint Germain<\/a> and sophomore Emilia V\u00e4ist\u00f6 each posted 73s Sunday. Saint Germain tied for 83rd at 222 while V\u00e4ist\u00f6 tied for 96th at 223. Senior Alexa Salda\u00f1a tied for 140th at 231.

\n\"\"#1 (1) Stanford held the Third-Round team lead at 843 to stand five shots ahead of #2 (2) USC. #21 (16) Oklahoma State was third at 854 with #5 (5) Texas (858), #17 (13) Iowa State (861), #7 (7) Arkansas (861), #3 (3) Florida (866), #23 (18) Arizona State (866), #10 (9) Duke (866), #27 (21) Eastern Michigan (870), #11 (10) Pepperdine (872), #32 (24) Missouri (872), #16 (12) SMU (874), #12 (11) North Carolina (874) and #31 (23) Northwestern (876) completing the Top 15.

\n\"NCAAThe Top-15 teams and the Top-Nine individuals advanced to the Final Round of stroke play on Monday. The top individual following the Final Round of stroke play will be crowned the NCAA individual national champion.

\nThe Top-Eight teams following the Monday’s Final Round of stroke play advance to match play. The Match Play Quarterfinals and Semifinals will be held Tuesday with the National Championship match beginning in the afternoon on Wednesday.

\nIndividually, Texas’s Farah O’Keefe and Catherine Park of USC held the Third-Round lead at 10-under 206. Stanford’s Meja \u00d6rtengren stood in third at 207 while teammate Megha Ganne was in fourth at 208.

\nThe Cougars earned their first trip as a team to the NCAA Championships after finishing second at the NCAA Simpsonville Regional at Louisville Golf Club on May 11-13. Houston posted a team-score of 11-under 853, including a school-record-low 275 in NCAA Regional play in the Second Round, to punch their ticket to the nation’s premier collegiate event.

\nHOUSTON in NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS HISTORY
\nWhile this was the first time that Houston competed as a team at the NCAA Championships, it wasn’t the first time Houston has been represented at the nation’s top collegiate tournament.

\nSvedenski\u00f6ld qualified as an individual from the NCAA Columbus Regional a year ago and will make her second appearance. All-American Karen Fredgaard tied for 28th as an individual at the 2021 NCAA Championships at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., and became the first Cougar to compete in all four rounds of stroke play.

\nAll-American Leonie Harm was the first Cougar to compete in multiple NCAA Championships, qualifying for the 2018 and 2016 events.
