NASCAR legend Kyle Busch<\/a>‘s\u00a0tragic and unexpected death on May 21 has rocked the sporting world, after the race car driver became sick with sepsis<\/a> following a bout of severe pneumonia.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 41-year-old, who had planned to race in the Coca-Cola 600 on May 24 in Charlotte, North Carolina, was rushed to hospital on May 20 while coughing up blood and struggling to breathe.<\/p>\n

He passed away a day later, leaving behind his wife, Samantha Busch, and their two children<\/a>, 11-year-old Brexton and four-year-old Lennix.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In an eerie turn of events for the Busch family, a clip has resurfaced online of Samantha detailing the possibility of having another child if Kyle passed away. The pair welcomed their two kids via IVF \u2013 and even founded the Bundle of Joy Fund together to help other families access IVF treatments \u2013 and had kept some of Samantha’s\u00a0embryos for the future. \u00a0<\/p>\n

“Here’s\u00a0something\u00a0I’ve\u00a0never told anybody,”\u00a0she said on the\u00a0Certified Oversharer<\/a>\u00a0podcast in November 2025.\u00a0“I’m\u00a0a certified over-sharer. So a lot of people ask me what we have done with our embryos because we still have some.”<\/p>\n

“I\u00a0can’t\u00a0part with them. We are paying to freeze them until\u2026they’re\u00a0going to have to come with me. I\u00a0don’t\u00a0know what else to do at this point because I love them so much and\u00a0can\u2019t\u00a0make a decision.”\u00a0She continued:\u00a0“Kyle was like,\u00a0‘We’re\u00a0done\u00a0having kids,’\u00a0and I said,\u00a0‘But what if?'”\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I told him the most morbid story the other day. I was like,\u00a0‘What if you passed? I would have to have another kid to\u00a0be connected\u00a0to you and name that child after you.'”<\/p>\n

Kyle’s\u00a0reaction was far from what Samantha expected.\u00a0“He was like,\u00a0‘What is wrong with you?’,”\u00a0she recalled,\u00a0“and I was like,\u00a0‘These are the things I think about Kyle. I love being a mom, and I have never told anybody that until I told you.'”\u00a0<\/p>\n

Samantha and her kids were honored at Sunday’s\u00a0race in Charlotte with a moment of silence, as the racing community came together to support the family of three.\u00a0“Samantha, I want you to know that this sport stands with you, and that you and your children are NASCAR family forever,”\u00a0the announcer declared after they had all observed a\u00a0moment’s\u00a0silence for Kyle.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kyle was found unresponsive in a racing simulator in Charlotte, and was rushed to hospital while coughing up blood. He had been struggling with a reported sinus infection for weeks, as well as a debilitating cough, and appeared weak in the days leading up to his death.\u00a0<\/p>\n
