{"id":695969,"date":"2026-05-27T00:12:11","date_gmt":"2026-05-27T00:12:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/695969\/"},"modified":"2026-05-27T00:12:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T00:12:11","slug":"gas-prices-in-toronto-when-to-fill-up-this-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/695969\/","title":{"rendered":"Gas prices in Toronto: when to fill up this week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Analyst Dan McTeague explains how relief is on the way at the pumps if you can wait a couple more days to fill up. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Don\u2019t fill up your gas tanks until Thursday, says one industry analyst.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Dan McTeague, the president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, predicts that the price of gas in Toronto and the rest of southern Ontario will drop 10 cents a litre on Thursday to 173.9.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The last time the price was that low was on April 24, McTeague says.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThat\u2019s music for the ears for many who haven\u2019t seen those kinds of prices,\u201d McTeague said in an interview with CP24.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">He adds that diesel will also fall below $2 to 195.9, a seven-cent-a-litre drop.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cAll this really has to do with headlines that are suggesting that somehow there\u2019s going to be some kind of a peace agreement between the U.S. and Iran, that hasn\u2019t happened, but markets seem to be really amused by this, and they\u2019re willing to shed a lot of their positions,\u201d McTeague said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Earlier this week, there were reports that the United States <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ctvnews.ca\/world\/mideast-conflict\/article\/trump-says-not-to-rush-as-details-emerge-of-a-potential-iran-deal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.ctvnews.ca\/world\/mideast-conflict\/article\/trump-says-not-to-rush-as-details-emerge-of-a-potential-iran-deal\/\">could be close to reaching a deal with Iran<\/a> that would end the war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, which is where a fifth of the world\u2019s oil supply passes through.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cEven though you\u2019ve had what is about what, five, six deals on this so far, even though there have been none closed, they believe that something is going to happen imminently, just around the corner.
