{"id":696268,"date":"2026-05-27T03:17:28","date_gmt":"2026-05-27T03:17:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/696268\/"},"modified":"2026-05-27T03:17:28","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T03:17:28","slug":"country-superstar-headlines-surrey-canada-day-celebration-with-fireworks-daily-hive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/696268\/","title":{"rendered":"Country superstar headlines Surrey Canada Day celebration with fireworks | Daily Hive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the country\u2019s largest Canada Day celebrations is returning to Metro Vancouver this summer, and it promises to be a day full of great live entertainment.<\/p>\n<p>The City of Surrey\u2019s annual <a href=\"https:\/\/surreycanadaday.ca\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Canada Day celebration<\/a> will take place at the Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre in Cloverdale on Wednesday, July 1.<\/p>\n<p>The free, all-ages event features a variety of performing arts groups, food trucks, amusement park rides, and a spectacular fireworks show.<\/p>\n<p>And you\u2019ll want to get there early to get a good seat for the headlining concert by country superstar Josh Ross.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSurrey Canada Day is one of our city\u2019s signature events, bringing people together to celebrate what makes us Canadian,\u201d Mayor Brenda Locke said in a release. \u201cAs one of the country\u2019s most diverse communities, Surrey shows how our differences shape who we are.\\<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re grateful for the support of the Government of Canada and the Province of British Columbia through the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport, helping make this free, family-friendly event possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Canada Day\" title=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"575\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"size-large wp-image-2275083\" style=\"color:transparent\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Canada-Day-1024x575.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-2275083\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Surrey Canada Day<\/p>\n<p>The incredible lineup of <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyhive.com\/vancouver\/listed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">events<\/a> at the Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre includes headliner Josh Ross, the first male Canadian country artist in nearly three decades to reach number one on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.<\/p>\n<p>Ross did so with his smash hit, \u201cSingle Again,\u201d which also topped the Canadian Country Music charts. The Waterdown, ON-born artist recently released his debut album, Later Tonight, and he has opened for artists like Luke Bryan, Jelly Roll and Nickelback.<\/p>\n<p>Also on the bill are rock icon Lee Aaron, multi-platinum singer-songwriter Tyler Shaw, and many more artists throughout the day.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Surrey Canada Day also features an extensive lineup of Indigenous education and cultural sharing. The Indigenous Village will include the returning Siam Stage, which means \u201cRespected Ones\u201d in the Coast Salish language, and a marketplace.<\/p>\n<p>Surrey is situated on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the q\u0313ic\u0259\u0313 y\u0313 (Katzie), q\u0313w\u0251:n\u0313\u019b\u0259n\u0313 (Kwantlen), and Semiahma (Semiahmoo) land-based nations.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Canada Day\" title=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"819\" height=\"1024\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"size-large wp-image-2275084\" style=\"color:transparent\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Canada-Day-1-819x1024.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-2275084\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Surrey Canada Day<\/p>\n<p>Families will enjoy the plentiful entertainment on the Family Stage and Community Stage.
