A new stat released by the league for the first time is proof of just how impactful the Washington Mystics<\/a>‘ second-year star is on every game she plays in.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, the WNBA unveiled its gravity stat — it measures how much a player shifts an entire defense based on their presence and movements.<\/p>\n

Citron leads the whole league in the metric:<\/p>\n

This is how the WNBA’s official website describes the measurement:\u00a0“Gravity quantifies how much a player pulls defenders towards them above expected, essentially measuring how much attention they draw compared to what the spacing on the floor predicts.”<\/p>\n

In the modern NBA, it’s classically the Steph Curry stat. Everywhere Curry goes, defenders shift in his direction, often leaving his teammates wide open because they overcommit to a cut that Curry makes.<\/p>\n

Citron has much the same impact on the floor, and that’s incredibly impressive.<\/p>\n
