Keith Andrews has revealed Yoane Wissa will not take part in Brentford\u2019s opening game against Nottingham Forest on Sunday amid strong \u00adinterest from Newcastle<\/a>. The forward from the Democratic \u00adRepublic of the Congo is understood to have been training on his own this week as Andrews \u00adprepares to take charge of his first match<\/a> since \u00adsucceeding Thomas Frank.<\/p>\n

Brentford are holding out for about \u00a340m and Newcastle have proved unwilling to match their valuation for the 28-year-old, who scored 19 times in the Premier League last season, having had an offer worth up to \u00a330m rejected last\u00a0month.<\/p>\n

Wissa has made no secret of his desire to leave after a bid from Forest was rejected by Brentford<\/a> in January and Andrews said he had decided not to involve him. \u201cIt has been a very disrupted pre-season \u2013 you\u2019re aware of that interest in Yoane.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very clear on the situation. As a head coach, I want Yoane in the building, to be a part of the first team and the squad. I see that moving forwards, but I am very understanding of his situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a very good relationship with him, and that will persist, but we have to focus on the players who are ready to play and perform and I don\u2019t think Yoane\u2019s in that space.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brentford, who are interested in signing Dango Ouattara, but must wait until Bournemouth have secured a replacement, have sold last season\u2019s top scorer, Bryan Mbeumo<\/a>, to Manchester United, the captain, Christian N\u00f8rgaard, to Arsenal<\/a> and the goalkeeper Mark Flekken to Bayer Leverkusen.<\/p>\n

Andrews would not confirm whether Jordan Henderson would be available to make his debut against\u00a0Forest, but denied that so many departures could unsettle the\u00a0squad.<\/p>\n
