United\u2019s director of football, Jason Wilcox, has closely monitored the Brazilian\u2019s progress in Serie A and is a keen admirer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">United, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/football\/2026\/may\/02\/casemiro-manchester-united-premier-league-football\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">having lost the experienced Casemiro<\/a>, were eager to add quality in midfield and the 26-year-old fits that profile. Manuel Ugarte, who has struggled since moving to United in 2024, could be allowed to leave on loan or permanently.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Personal terms are not thought to be a problem for \u00c9derson, who has not been picked for the World Cup. He has spent four seasons at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/football\/atalanta\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Atalanta<\/a>, playing in the Champions League in the last two and winning the Europa League in 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\u00c9derson is unlikely to be United\u2019s only midfield signing.
